My Life According To...

Happy Sunday y'all!

This has been one crazy week for me, so I truly do apologize for the lack of photos!

Can you tell I take finals in two weeks?

So, I have some exciting news that I will bring to the blog this week but want to wait until the perfect moment ;)

Okay, so this week

I brought you

which was sooooo outrageously delicious.

I brought a piece to my aunt at work and we had a lovely chat about our fave pies and how they taste even better with coffee. I hope you agree. :)

Then, I put some cranberries to good use.
Ya know how I hate the word moist...but this cake is ssoooo utterly moist it's cray cray.

Last Sunday I went to visit my grandmother who was hosting a family Thanksgiving breakfast.

It was a cold, wintry day and absolutely gorgeous as I drove up to the entrance of my childhood neighborhood.
I have never really mentioned that I grew up in what is known as one of the many "hoods" in Houston. I went to school about 12 blocks from my house, my grandmother lived and still lives directly across from my elementary and high school (where my parents also attended school). This is the neighborhood I spent many days picking pecans out of my own front yard in, rollerblading in the middle of the street with my dad and seester, helping my mom plant flowers in the front yard, a place that I loved to call home and still feel as though it is my home when I return. I will forever hold a place for Garden Villas in my heart. :)

On another note...it's 80 degrees today and I am wearing shorts and flip-flops.

Gotta love Texas.

MANGIA!!!
