My Life According To...

Happy Mother's Day to all the beautiful, hardworking, brilliant, mother's out there! Sorry guys, but my Mom is pretty much at the top of the list.

This is the woman who spent hours upon hours in labor with me. Sorry about that Mom. Now, while I would love to say that she taught me how to sew, knit, cook, bake...I am not good with a needle and cloth and have no patience for knitting. That's no big deal. My mom taught me much, much, more.
My mom has taught me to try new things in life. She always says, "Don't knock it til' you've tried it." Now, I find myself saying the same thing. She never forced me to do things I didn't want to do when I was younger, like be a Girl Scout. Sorry, I don't sell cookies...I bake them. She taught me the importance of neatness and organization, although we both have our own ideas of what organization is...hey, she taught me to be independent too! So, I guess that's balance.

My mom has always been my rock to lean on, the woman that can fix all my problems with a good movie and a pint of frozen yogurt. When I was younger I dealt with a lot of crap in high school. No problem...Mom was always there to take me out of school for a day of hookey (I mean a "mental health" day). Now, she just hands me a glass of wine. She taught me how to have passion for life, in general, which is where I get my passion to cook and bake...mostly, for others. She is my bff for life and I love her to a million pieces and back, even more than peanut butter, which, if you know me, says a lot. I LOVE YOU MOM! Happy Mother's Day!

Since we are on the topic of Mother's...did you cook for your mom yet?
It's not too late to make her these waffles.

My plan was to make brunch for her today...but instead, we met some family for a nice breakfast at La Madeleine this morning.
It was the perfect setting for good conversation and a yummy breakfast!

Yesterday was all about the rain...seriously, thunderstorms all night!

I was pumped: Free day of rest...no exercise!

That meant coffee and pj's kind of morning for me.

Later that morning I attended my cousin's college graduation.

She is the one on the far right.
Don't you just love those hair bows and look at that face paint!

My dad and I spent the afternoon at the corvette show on the boardwalk.

I have no problem looking at cars. None.at.all.

Baby seester just got in town this morning so who knows what's in store for us today.

There is still time left to do something for your mom:

Make brunch.

 Buy her some beautiful flowers.

Make dinner: how about some burgers? Eh, do it!

Or just let her sleep in...Bella says it's a definite do!

MANGIA!!!

  1. Sweet post, Chelsy! Your mother should be proud! In fact, that's a definite--we know she's proud! I know you made her day special!
